- For the first time in a long time, Marc Crawford returns to 麻豆传媒映画as an NHL coach. Crawford is now an associate coach with the Ottawa Senators, but still sees 麻豆传媒映画as his second home and still has a house in North Van. []
- But who cares about Crawford? It鈥檚 time for Stecher Mania! In light of injuries to Alex Burrows, Derek Dorsett, and Chris Tanev, the Canucks have called up Troy Stecher. And also Jayson Megna, but who cares, because STECHER!!!! []
- Stecher isn鈥檛 just getting called up to spend time in the press box. He鈥檒l be playing his first NHL game against the Senators on the top pairing with Alex Edler. GET HYPE!!!! [闭听
- That means no Tanev in the lineup against the Senators, which is kind of killing my Stecher buzz, but he鈥檚 apparently just day-to-day. No need to flip the pool just yet. [闭听
- It was confirmed on saturday that Nikita Tryamkin has outright refused to play in the AHL, even for a conditioning stint. The big Russian defencemen is left stuck in the press box as he says he will exercise his out-clause and bolt back to Russia if he is sent down. []
- J.D. Burke thinks that it might be best for both Tryamkin and the Canucks if he does go back to Russia, getting some playing time in the KHL with a possibility of coming back to the NHL in the future. Personally, I鈥檓 of the mind that since they have him here, they need to sink their hooks in and keep him in on this continent for as long as possible. [闭听

- The Sedins and Loui Eriksson haven鈥檛 been lighting up the scoresheet like fans had hoped and Sven Baertschi doesn鈥檛 seem to be the answer either. While Willie Desjardins could reunite Jannik Hansen with the twins, that would entail breaking up the Canucks鈥� most effective line. So, what about Anton Rodin? []

- Jeff Paterson is concerned about how fatigue has already played a factor early in the season. He's not wrong. If the Canucks are going to be playing in hard-fought, one-goal games all season long, they鈥檙e going to be playing tired most nights and if their performance against the Ducks is how they play when they鈥檙e tired, the Canucks are in real trouble.
