An employee at the Shoppers Drug Mart at 1202 W Pender St in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is among several retail workers in the Lower Mainland to have recently tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Several more staff members at Loblaw-owned grocery and drug stores in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»have tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of retail chains Shoppers Drug Mart, City Market, and Real Canadian Superstore provided updates to its COVID-19  on Feb. 28 and March 1, indicating the following affected stores:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart, 1202 West Pender St., Vancouver: The last day the team member worked was on Feb. 24.

While T&T Supermarket is owned by Loblaw, the Canadian Asian grocery chain lists its COVID-19 cases separately .

On Feb. 26, T&T's case tracker indicated a part-time employee who works at two Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»stores has tested positive for the virus:

  • Chinatown Store - 179 Keefer Place, Vancouver: Part-time store associate last worked Feb. 23.

None of the stores are considered coronavirus public exposure locations by either Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health or Fraser Health.

Loblaw joins Sobeys, Inc. (Safeway, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods) as one of a handful of major Canadian retailers that shares employee COVID-19 cases with the public. Outside the grocery and drug store sector, companies like and home improvement chain provide public listings.

In British Columbia, Lowe's Canada indicated on Feb. 22 that an associate at its RONA store at 21213 Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge had tested positive, and had last worked Feb. 19.
