Employees of several major grocery store chains in Metro Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»have been confirmed as having the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Among the new store worker cases reported in the region are those among staff at multiple Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»locations of the T&T Supermarket chain.
T&T posted the following employee case updates to its online tracker:
- Chinatown Store - 179 Keefer Place, Vancouver: Part-time store associate last worked Feb. 15
- First Ave Store - #100-2800 First Ave, Vancouver: Store associate last worked Feb. 17
Previously, on Feb. 17, T&T Supermarket reported that a part-time employee at the store in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby tested positive for the virus; that worker was last on the job Feb. 11.
On Feb. 16, T&T broke a long case-free streak in its B.C. stores when a part-time associate at Vancouver's Marine Gateway store tested positive for COVID-19. That particular T&T employee last worked Feb. 14.
While T&T is owned by Loblaw, the Canadian Asian grocery chain lists its COVID-19 cases separately on its own site. On Feb. 22, Loblaw Companies Ltd. indicated on its B.C. the following newly-affected store:
- Real Canadian Superstore, #1105 Eaton Ctr. 4700 Kingsway, Burnaby: The last day each of the team members worked was on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
On Saturday (Feb. 20) Loblaw indicated there were two Metro Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»stores with newly-diagnosed employee COVID-19 cases:
- Michael's NOFRILLS, 5501 204th Street, Unit 119, Langley: The last day the team member worked was on Feb. 15.
- Shoppers Drug Mart, 16050 24th Ave, Unit 105 Surrey: The last day the team member worked was on Feb. 17.
