July is generally a quiet time for the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»theatre scene (most of the companies are in rehearsals for their fall seasons), but capitalizes on the warm weather to perform in the open air.
This year the grand dame of fun summertime theatre company presents two high-energy adaptations of blockbuster films on alternating nights: Legally Blonde: The Musical, in which sorority girl Elle Woods follows her boyfriend to Harvard Law School; and Shrek: The Musical, about an ogre, a talking donkey, and – well, you know the rest (this isn’t high-brow experimental theatre).
On now until August 23 at Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl. .
