Curry Cup celebrates five years of delicious competition

Local chefs compete for bragging rights in this annual contest that celebrates all things curry

Lucky ticket holders to the 2018 Curry Cup will be able to sample curry recipes from some of Vancouver's best chefs.

For many chefs and their brigades curry is the ultimate family-style staff meal, the proud product of a cook's cultural heritage.

So an annual cooking competition dedicated to curry dishes created by some of this city’s best chefs only makes sense, which is where the fifth annual Curry Cup comes in.

On March 13, join the Chefs' Table Society of B.C. and its panel of participating chefs and judges at Heritage Hall on Main Street to watch eight chefs battle it out for bragging rights and enjoy samples of wine from beer samples from , cocktails from Brown-Foreman/Jack Daniels, fresh doughnuts from — and, of course, curry.

It's the best ticket in town for an intimate, tasty and entertaining evening that also benefits , a program dedicated to teaching young students about healthy food.

And once again, the Curry Cup will be hosted by man-about-town Fred Lee.

Heritage Asian Eatery chef Felix Zhou won both the Curry Cup and People's Choice awards in 2017. This year, Zhou returns as a judge.
