Hockey Hall of Fame skates over to the PNE

Legends of Hockey exhibit includes Warhol portrait, Gretzky’s first skates

Wayne Gretzky’s first set of skates, an Andy Warhol portrait of New York Ranger Rod Gilbert and five trophies, including the Canada Cup, the second World Cup of Hockey, the Art Ross Trophy, the Campbell Bowl and the President’s Trophy, are on display now at the on now through Sept. 4.

The 5,000-square-foot e: y exhibit at the PNE Garden Auditorium is the largest outside of Toronto, the permanent home of the exhibit.

In a nod to local hockey history, the exhibit also includes themed cases covering the Âé¶ą´«Ă˝Ół»­Canucks and Giants, as well as artifacts from the “Original Six” clubs, including the Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs. A mini-theatre within the exhibit features video of some of the game’s greatest players to ever lace up the skates.

The Hockey Hall of Fame: Legends of Hockey exhibit is free with entrance to the PNE, located within the Garden Auditorium and open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visit pne.ca for a complete schedule of events at the PNE.
