We tried the season’s two must-have beauty products

As summer turns to fall, we’ve identified two beauty products that every woman needs –not because they’re being repped by a reality star or pushed at us through our IG feeds, but because they’re really frickin’ good.

As summer turns to fall, we’ve identified two beauty products that every woman needs –not because they’re being repped by a reality star or pushed at us through our IG feeds, but because they’re really frickin’ good.

Instead of a brush or felt tip, ($21) has a tiny wheel, like a pizza cutter, for precise eyeliner application. So far, so gimmicky. except... It’s really good. Even the most cack-handed beauty writer can get a crisp, fine line, close to the lashes, because the “wheel”is actually a thin disc of plastic, so you can press hard without colour spreading. It dries fast, lasts long and comes in four shades: shiny black, matte black, brown and electric blue. Alas, it’s limited edition, leaving stores mid-September, so it’s now or never if you want to try it.

($9.95) was originally a limited-edition Christmas product, but the lavender/vanilla cream has just been made permanent. Insomniacs are going insane for it, particularly in the U.K., where one newspaper claimed it helped a toddler sleep 14 hours uninterrupted. Sign us up. We tried it on a five-month-old and got an extra two hours of sleep (genuinely), plus she smelled bloody lovely when we lifted her at 5.30 a.m. –a soft, warm scent that made us a little less resentful of the early morning wakeup. Buy it at the brand’s refurbished and expanded Robson Street store, which opened on Aug. 25. It’s easy to shop because everything’s clearly laid out in separate zones for skincare, body-care and so on, and there’s plenty of space so you can get around without knocking over a tower of bath bombs (always a worry before).
