Hats off to Geoff Olson for reminding a public with collective amnesia about how much someone with genuine leadership qualities-not just a desire to "lead"-can accomplish in a single term. To the list of Dave Barrett's many accomplishments you can add the creation of Cypress Provincial Park itself, where the special ceremony to honour him was held. When people wake up and remember that we are first citizens, not consumers, and get engaged as such we might see another government as good and worthy as Mr. Barrett's.
