Re: "Letter of the Week," Oct. 12.
Tracey Young rightly asks for an "action plan" to maintain Vancouver's existing trees. My several calls about trees since 2007 brought only the response that pruning is done on a seven-year cycle. That's an action plan, I suppose. However, today's call to 3-1-1 brought a correction: It's now an eight-year cycle but a return caller today said that a 30 per cent staffing cut has made even that cycle unrealistic.
