To the editor:
Note Vision's subtle smear campaign - the associations are spending "public funds" on advertising! It is for shame.
As long as the proposed ads are in the interest of the association(s), as spelled out in the Societies Act, the associations have the right to make their case with an ad campaign. This is called "free speech."
The ads will address Vision's naked cash grab. The tone they are taking suggests money spent on ads is public money and should be spent on other things. Not their call. To suggest, in public, that there is impropriety speaks volumes as to Vision's integrity, not that of these volunteer associations. Full disclosure: I am a director at large of the Champlain Heights Community Centre Association, but this is my personal opinion - not that of the CHCCA.
