Re: "Coun. Affleck needs labour relations training," Letters, Jan. 4.
I would suggest that Mr. Faoro should seek some basic business training if he is not aware that all levels of government have little expertise in technology and that they rely heavily on private sector contractors and companies to provide their software, systems and data storage requirements. I would be very interested to see one of his studies showing that government can save taxpayers money by developing any type of technology in-house at a lower cost.
If Mr. Faoro insists that Coun. George Affleck is expected to express his appreciation to dedicated city employees, then he should extend that expression of appreciation to include private sector workers who also work tirelessly to make Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»a great place to live.
