Cyclists pay taxes, pollute less

I guess Mike Tropp doesn't know any cyclists. In fact, we pay taxes, too. I am a cyclist and homeowner who pays hefty property taxes. I also own a car and a motorcycle, and pay fuel taxes when I fill up, which is not often since I prefer cycling. It's healthier for me and the environment, easier to park, and cheaper than motorized vehicles.

I also pay all the other taxes a Canadian resident has to pay every time I buy some-thing. Why should cyclists pay special tolls on roads and bridges? We take up less space, we don't pollute and we don't fume (literally and figuratively) in gridlocked traffic twice a day.
