To the editor:
The separated bike lanes in downtown are fantastic.
I have heard people are biking into work even when they have free parking at work because the lanes are now much safer.
In fact, I've even seen parents biking with their kids on those lanes. When you see that, you know you're doing the right thing.
It shouldn't only be the fearless ones who can cycle around downtown. The lanes connect well with the safe and quiet routes to the south and east that are on residential streets. I have cycled them several times and it's easy to see why more and more people are using them. They are a great addition to the city and I hope we see infrastructure like this in the suburbs where busy routes are sometimes the only possible way to ride around the area.
