Re: "Gen Why aims to save Waldorf," Jan. 11.
I am astonished by the offensive sense of entitlement Tara Mahoney expressed in her statement that it's so disempowering that a private developer can take whatever they want because they have the money to do it and the price is right to the person who wants to sell it and the community doesn't have a say. Ms Mahoney has conveniently forgotten that the developer is "taking" private property owned by a private individual/entity.
Next time Ms Mahoney has the money to buy an apple at the grocery store, should I feel disempowered that, as part of the community, I won't have a say in her transaction?
