To the editor:
You gotta admit Mike Howell, Vancouver's mayor makes a good case. Aside from the odd pilot-boat captain a a handful of port jobs, there really is no upside for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»when you compare it to the risk borne by everyone between Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and Port Renfrew at the exit of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. That oil is going off-shore and making money for other people...not us. Why not keep it in Canada and actually have a long-term self-reliant energy strategy, rather than bang our heads against the wall in 50 years and wonder why we sold off this black gold in such a hurry?
