Re" Letter of the week," July 13.
I'm afraid Deirdre Phillips has a misguided interpretation of what constitutes public enjoyment of the beach between Kits and Spanish Banks. That "pocket of relatively unspoiled nature" enhances the quality of life for a privileged few who live there. Extending the seawall will, however, enhance the quality of life for everyone. These "hordes" that she fears are indicative of an elitist attitude that has no place in a city that values all of its citizens.
