K&K could have sharpened Nanaimo jab

To the editor: Re: "Eastern promises," Kudos and Kvetches, June 1. Interesting that the author of today's K&K should evoke the city of Nanaimo when speaking of the name, naming and renaming of Hastings-Sunrise.

Interesting that the author of today's K&K should evoke the city of Nanaimo when speaking of the name, naming and renaming of Hastings-Sunrise. If the author really knew the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island town well enough to earn the right to liken it to Prince George (hinterland shame?) he or she would know that Nanaimo is in fact a Salish word that means "people of many names."

Had the author known that, his or her K&K piece would have had an even sharper hook.
