To the editor:

I find it interesting how the Courier used a headline that misleads the reader on what the article is actually about. From what I can surmise there is no actual destruction, just a lady who clearly does not like adult skateboarders. I appreciate the challenges of having a park so close to a children's area but resorting to naming calling and stereotypes resolves nothing and only adds to the estrangement of youth in our community. I live across the street and have used the facility and have found the skateboarders, bearded and otherwise, to be respectful and considerate of the other users in the park, especially the little ones. I believe it is a gross injustice to label a group because a few people may smoke or drink a couple of beers. Obviously the park is a success as it has more users per square foot than any other part of the park put together. I would hope that the next time the Courier decides to run an article, it interviews a number of people not just the person who is the angriest. It may make for good headlines but is in fact poor journalism.
