Re: "Park board's Jasper 'misleading' the public," Letters, Sept. 26.

I was disappointed by Ian Robertson's letter. To attack commissioner Jasper with blatant mis-truths as his NPA friend Jesse Johal did is unbecoming of a former park board chair whom I have had great respect for. Having served on the board with Jasper for the past four years, I can assure readers that as chair, Jasper always showed the utmost attentiveness to all members of the public who came to speak to the board. Having also served as vice chair, I can also assure readers that the only time Jasper would briefly step away to talk with staff was in order to seek clarification on a procedural matter without disturbing the speakers or flow of conversation. While the Vision Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»park board is focused on working collaboratively with all parties, it's a shame that the past and present NPA seem stuck in the negative and relentless old style of smear campaigning and politics.

Constance Barnes, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»park board commissioner
