Re: "Olson's soap box keeps getting higher," Letters, July 13.

Bob McCance seems to know more about horse racing than the importance of a lobbyist in shaping political agenda. For every environmental lobbyist, there are hundreds of corporate agents altering our democratic processes. It would be wonderful if environmental groups could even come close to matching the millions of dollars spent by corporate bullies and manipulators like Enbridge or Richard Kinder formerly of Enron). Millions spent by environmental groups? You must subscribe to the Fraser Institute research committee. Geoff Olson might just have a soap box to make sense of this world, but it is far more effective and cheaper than the millions of dollars wasted on inane propaganda, wisely ridiculed by Province cartoonist Dan Murphy.
