Re: "Councillor seeks legal advice after surprise call," Feb. 8.
I read with a mixture of amusement and incredulity that the reason city manager Penny Ballem wanted to kill the motion from Coun. Adriane Carr was that it would jeopardize the "negotiations" between the park board and community centre associations.
I'm a director of a community centre association and have been watching this appalling farce unfold. On more than one occasion and in various ways we've been informed by park board general manager Malcolm Bromley and his travelling slide show particularly that the terms of the new operating model are "non-negotiable." Am I missing something? Since when is having something shoved down your throat negotiations?
What I'm thinking is that Bal-lem is trying to avoid having to answer for her instigation of this unsavoury mess and save her Vision Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»councillor masters the embarrassment of having to approve the rubber stamping of her predatory approach by their puppets on park board.
