Re: "Newsmaker of the Year," Dec. 14.

Your Newsmaker of the Year suggests that neighbourhoods have been ignored by the current council in its land use decisions. The optics of this circumstance cannot be overlaid with the specious arguments of the greater good of the community.

Clearly the public is annoyed at their treatment, which has manifest its actions into public outcry. The larger proportion of voters who did not participate in the last civic election may have found the motivation to re-energize their interest.

As councillors prepare for their year-end break, I urge them all to reconsider the role they played in submitting Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to its planning by developer-centric methodology, and return the "community" rightfully into the community planning process.
