I was glad to see the Nov. 1 Rants/Raves with four excellent letters. Crotch Texters was very funny and the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»speed-up was confirmation. I wondered why cars were suddenly so close. Maybe its safer not to signal. Cell phone radiation is damaging brains and leading to aggressive behaviour. Happily they will not be able to breed after texting down there so often.

The price of $22.50 admission to the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Art Gallery is high for those of us on a reduced income. There should be a lower price for BC residents. And there should be an entire free day to visit the VAG, not just 5 to 9pm on Tuesdays as it is currently. In these recession-hit days, perhaps the VAG would get more visitors to make up the shortfall if they reduced the price to $10 on weekdays and keep the weekend price at the current level.

We are again facing the attempt to permanently close part of Robson Street. Seniors and the disabled living in the West End need the regular #5 bus service restored. The useless closure of the 800 block means the bus meanders, instead of using the logical and convenient route. This closures offers absolutely nothing positive or concrete to the majority of Vancouverites, while many are being grossly inconvenienced. For those who need to party, there are plenty (i.e. behind the Art Gallery) of locations to do it, without inconveniencing anyone.
A West End senior bus user
Many thanks again this year to the Park Board crews for the amazing garden beds along English Bay and west of Denman parkettes. They are a much appreciated addition to West End living.

I am fed up with Translink reporting that they have no revenue. How about putting in some turnstiles on the SkyTrain and start charging transit fees?
