Two former Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»planners, an Emily Carr professor and a handful of judges picked thin streets as one of the finalists in the RE: THINK Housing contest arranged by the mayor's task force on housing affordability?

Have any of these highly creative and critical thinkers thought about the consequences of putting housing directly on top of the crumbling infrastructure that the city of is already having a difficult enough time maintaining? Have none of them thought about the water, gas and sewage systems that run underneath all of these streets, and what may come of their "new housing proposals" as soon as the next sewage upgrades or repairs are needed?

If you think we've got problems now with affordability, wait until we've got infill housing sitting on top of the infrastructure to serve us. Now I understand why Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is so expensive to live in.
