Known for embracing green spaces, working together, and celebrations, Vancouver's Commercial Drive--known to many as just "The Drive"--is one of the city's most unique communities. So it's no wonder they put on a terrific Car Free Day festival for the whole family to enjoy.
This year, Car Free Day on The Drive takes place on Sunday, July 8 from noon to 7 pm, and will take over Commercial Drive from Venables to North Grandview.

The 15 blocks of the fest will be filled with local artisans, musicians, activities, entertainment, and plenty of food. Plus there are amenities like a bike valet and a healing garden. This is where Car Free Day in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»began, so this neighbourhood knows how to do it right.
Check out the local shops, and get to know this eclectic community with a profound sense of heritage.
There are two additional Car Free Day festivals in Vancouver; the West End's is June 16, and Main Street’s is June 17. Kitsilano will have community block parties on June 16-17 and June 30-July 2 this year.
