YVR Airport’s Japadog spot handing out 300 free hot dogs today

Yes to free food!

If you are a hot dog lover, today is your big day.

Japadog’s new location at YVR Airport is celebrating its grand opening by handing out 300 hot dogs for free on March 9.

According to Japadog’s Instagram account, hot dogs will be served on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 2:30 p.m. until quantities last.

“It will be our dream-come-true celebration, and we are grateful for this opportunity to open our new restaurant at YVR airport, and meet visitors from all across the world,” reads Japadog’s Instagram post.

The Richmond News reported earlier that the famous Japanese chain of street food stalls is opening a new location in YVR’s domestic terminal food court, before the security gate.

Japadog, which also operates a store on Robson Street and a food cart next to Lansdowne Centre, serves a variation of Japanese-style hotdogs with toppings such as freshly grated radish, shrimp tempura and croquettes.

According to YVR, the new restaurant had a soft opening this week and current hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. On April 1, the hours will expand to 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
