Girl who followed dogs into Chilliwack forest has been found: RCMP

Chilliwack RCMP thanked all the responders who helped search for the girl by air and ground.

A girl who followed dogs into a forest has been located, according to Chilliwack RCMP.

A seven-year-old girl who went missing in Chilliwack after following a group of dogs into a forest has been found.

Chilliwack RCMP confirmed just before 4:30 p.m. that she'd been located on Friday afternoon (May 2). 

The girl will be treated for any medical needs and will be reunited with her family, Chilliwack RCMP said in a press release.

"We want to thank all the partner agencies that assisted in the search," police said. 

"This includes Chilliwack Search and Rescue, BC Conservation Officer Service, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the LMD TAC Troop, the Emergency Response Team and RCMP Air Services."

The girl went missing in a forested area near the 50800 block of Winona Road and close to the Chilliwack River RV & Campground. 

A large search was conducted by air and ground on Friday.
