Sunny change of pace: Environment Canada updates Vancouver's weekend forecast

Don't let the week's gloomy weather fool you.

You might not want to abandon your poolside plans for the weekend, despite the recent rain.

While Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­has seen some gloomy weather over the past few days, the forecast calls for a sunny change of pace during the weekend. 

Staring on Friday, Aug. 7, Environment Canada calls for dreary skies with showers during the day and a 60% chance of showers at night. Following this, Saturday is expected to be cloudy with a 40% chance of showers in the morning. However, skies are expected to clear in the afternoon, with daytime highs reaching 21°C; the evening is expected to be clear with a low of 13°C.

On Sunday, the forecast calls for bright sunshine and a high of 23°C with a low of 15°C at night. Monday is expected to be especially toasty in parts of the city, with the forecast calling for a high of 23°C along the coast and a soaring high of 26°C inland. While the skies are expected to stay clear overnight, Tuesday is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud during the day with a slightly cooler high of 20°C.

Wednesday and Thursday are both expected to be cloudy.

Environment Canada has revisited its three-month summer forecast to include September. Models show above average temperatures. Right now, the forecast shows the Lower Mainland should see temperatures between 0.5°C and 1°C above average through the season.
