A Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»mom says she isn't sure yet how she'll spend her $500,000 lotto winnings, but she knows it will go towards helping her family.
Wenwen Lu of New Westminster won the half-million Extra prize in the May 6, 2025 Lotto Max draw, according to the BCLC.
Lu, who purchased her winning ticket at Chang Luck Smoke Shop inside Burnaby's Crystal Mall, was at home when she checked the draw results using the BCLC Lotto! App.
The first person Lu told was her son, who asked "Mom, is it true?"
Lu says she imagined what it might be like to be named a winner after seeing a photo of a previous BCLC lotto winner.
Now she is ready to imagine how the $500,000 can add to her life. Lu says she already enjoys cooking and spending time with her children.
Lu says the win feels "amazing," adding: "I'm thankful."
