Canada Place, the street in Vancouver, will be closed from June 30 to July 5 due to Canada Day celebrations and a huge event at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Convention Centre.

Canada Place, the street, will be closed this week.

The road in front of Canada Place (the structure) and the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Convention Centre will be shut down from June 30 to July 5, 2025, according to the City of Vancouver.

"Canada Place will be closed to general traffic to accommodate Canada Together events and busy conference activity at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Convention Centre," reads a press release.

Canada Day celebrations will run through July 1 at Canada Place.

The to the area is Alcoholics Anonymous's global convention, running from July 3 to 6. It's expected to be the largest convention ever held in Vancouver.

It's the 90th AA convention, and 60,000 attendees from around the world are expected. BC Place will host events along with the convention centre.

Traffic closures

Due to those events, Canada Place from Howe to Thurlow streets will be closed to general traffic until July 5.

And on July 1, for Canada Day, Cordova Street's 800 and 900 blocks will be closed (between Howe and Thurlow).

Access to the areas will be only allowed on Howe Street and only for taxis, buses, and hotel guests going to the Pan Pacific and Fairmont Waterfront hotels, or the cruise terminal.

"Ride-hailing vehicles picking up or dropping off guests at the Pan Pacific and Fairmont Waterfront hotels will be permitted to access Howe Street," reads the press release.

"Ride-hailing vehicles can drop off cruise passengers on the lower P2 level of the terminal, accessible via Main Street and Waterfront Road. Cruise-related ride-hailing vehicles need to pick up on 1000 W Cordova."

Access for emergency vehicles remains unchanged.
