It seems many agree: Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is awesome.
The annual for 2025 includes Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»in the top 25. The list is put together by Resonance Consultancy, which consults on tourism and place-making, among other things.
Hundreds of cities were considered, and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»ranked 22.
"With its addictive views, mild climate and multiculturalism—boasting the largest pan-Asian population outside of Asia—Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is widely recognized as one of the most livable cities in the world," reads the report.
Just how lovable is Vancouver?
The firm used several metrics and boiled them down to three broad categories: livability, lovability, and prosperity. Vancouver's strongest category was livability, where it ranked 15th overall. It was pulled down somewhat by prosperity, where it ranked 32.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»fared worst in the "lovability" category, where it ranked 49th.
Two subcategories in which Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»did well were tree coverage (fifth worldwide), which helped in the livability category, and educational attainment (seventh), which measured the proportion of the population with bachelor's degrees and was under the prosperity category.
Lack of hotel rooms among challenges for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»visitors
While it was mostly complimentary to the city, it also noted some issues, especially with global events coming to the city.
"Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»may not have room for everyone that wants to visit. In the midst of rising real estate prices, the city is facing another challenge: fewer hotel rooms," reads the report.
Toronto was the only Canadian city to rank higher than Vancouver, finishing 15th. It finished higher in lovability (25) and prosperity (11), but poorer in livability (19).
American neighbour Seattle actually ranked close to Vancouver, at 19th overall, with similar scores to Vancouver, except in prosperity (where it ranked 17th).
Montreal (35), Ottawa (52), Calgary (54), and Edmonton (65) all placed as well. The list was topped by London, followed by New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Singapore (in that order).
