For a second consecutive day, schools across Metro Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»are closed, calling for a "Snow Day" due to ongoing hazardous winter weather conditions.
"After careful consideration, the superintendent decided to close all schools today," shared the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»School Board (VSB) at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 18).
Similar messaging was issued by school districts across the Lower Mainland, citing snow and ice and safety concerns.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»private school closures
Post-secondary institutions began announcing Thursday closures on Wednesday.
"Due to anticipated weather and road conditions through the morning and afternoon, UBC is cancelling in-person learning activities on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»campus for all of Jan. 18," last night.
The situation is : "In-person activities at all three SFU campuses are cancelled for January 18, 2024, due to forecasted weather and road conditions."
"Due to winter conditions across the Lower Mainland, all BCIT campuses will be CLOSED on January 18. All in-person classes and exams are cancelled. If your class or work is available online, this closure does not impact you," Wednesday.
