While Vancouverites might have had some trouble viewing the full 'wolf moon' in January, stargazers had a number of opportunities to soak in the stunning full 'snow moon' over the weekend.
February's full moon took place in 鶹ýӳon Saturday, Feb. 8, but the moon appeared full throughout the duration of Saturday night and into Sunday.
February's full moon is commonly known as the 'snow moon' in North America and dates back to Native American times; it was given that name because February typically experienced the greatest amount of snowfall during the year.

Stargazers should opt to travel as far away from city lights as possible in order to avoid light pollution that will obscure the clarity of heavenly bodies. While this works best the in more remote places, anywhere that has a higher elevation will also provide more ideal viewing conditions.
