Two teens are facing charges after police say rocks were thrown at moving vehicles in Markham, Ont., causing a serious crash last year.

Provincial police say officers received multiple reports of rocks being deliberately thrown by a passing vehicle or person from Sept. 20 to Nov. 30, 2024.

Police say one of these incidents resulted in a serious collision, in which two individuals suffered life-threatening injuries.

In another incident, a rock was thrown at the windshield of a bus travelling on Highway 48, north of Major Mackenzie Drive in Markham, but no one was injured.

Similar incidents were also reported to police in York Region.
