Everything's coming up roses right now at three of Vancouver's most beloved parks and gardens.
The roses are in full bloom this month at Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, and VanDusen Botanical Garden. June is the peak time for roses, though they will be blooming into September.
For those in search of something free, fun, and fragrant to do outdoors, the and Rose Garden are there for your strolling, picnicking, and Instagramming needs.
The Stanley Park Rose Garden is 101 years old and is home to 3,000 roses. The Queen Elizabeth Park Rose Garden is just over a half-century old and features about 2,500 roses growing in beds plotted out to reflect the shape of Queen Elizabeth II’s Imperial State Crown, notes the City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Board of Parks and Recreation.
You can also pay a visit to , which has the Formal Rose Garden and Heritage Rose Garden. There - among the many, many beautiful blooms - you will find several of British Columbia’s six native rose species. To visit VanDusen Botanical Garden, floral enthusiasts must book a timed-entry ticket in advance.
