Hot deal alert: You can fly from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­on a new, direct Ontario route for $145

The airline is also offering a sale on flights.

A major Canadian airline has introduced a new flight from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­to a top Ontario city, creating a new low-cost option for locals headed east. 

Porter Airlines is launching a daily, nonstop route with flights from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­to Hamilton, Ont., commencing Tuesday, June 3. 

Flights from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­International Airport (YVR) depart at 12:15 p.m. and arrive in John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) at 7:59 p.m. Flights from Hamilton depart at 8:20 a.m. and arrive in Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­at 10:30 a.m.

Flights will ramp up to twice-daily starting June 28.

The prices for one-way tickets on the route are currently lower with Porter than with any other airline. For instance, Porter's one-way flight to Hamilton from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­on June 18 starts at $176, followed by WestJet at $231, and Air Canada at $260 (see slide two).

However, even cheaper options exist for travellers looking for one-way flights. 

On July 3, a flight from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­to Hamilton costs $145 booked through third-party supplier ly.com, $166 through booking.com, or $175 directly with Porter (see slide three).

Round-trip options from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­to Hamilton

Travellers can also find the cheapest options for round-trip flights between Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­and Hamilton with Porter Airlines. 

A flight departing from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­on June 18 and returning from Hamilton on June 22 costs $310 with Porter, while flights jump up about $100 to $402 with the next best option, WestJet (see slides four and five).

Travellers should ensure they check the restrictions before they book a ticket. The lowest price (Basic) doesn't include a carry-on bag and changes aren't permitted. Additionally, seat selection costs $12. The next fare class up, Standard, allows changes for a fee and includes a carry-on bag.

The new route is operated with Porter’s 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The airline proudly boasts having "no middle seats on any flight," meaning you won't have to scooch past two passengers to use the bathroom if you are in the window seat.

Porter passengers also enjoy free Wi-Fi and complimentary beer, wine, and premium Canadian snacks, regardless of fare class (the lowest-priced tickets can take advantage of the perks, too).

Porter is also offering a at 8:59 p.m. for travel until Dec. 12 with up to 20 per cent off on select flights.

Discounts are based on the time of year and day of the week.
