Hot deal alert: You can fly from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Dublin for only $292

Air Canada launched its direct route from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Dublin this month.

Flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Dublin can cost significantly less than many other tickets to Europe this year.

Travellers booking tickets from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport (YVR) to Dublin Airport (DUB) in Ireland can enjoy direct options from Air Canada, as well as cheaper options courtesy of WestJet when bought through several third-party suppliers.

But those looking for cheap one-way flights to Dublin won't find many options departing soon. The spring prices are inflated, starting between $450 and $550 through May and June. Prices drop under $400 in July on select dates. The cheapest options emerge in the fall, with prices falling below $300 in October.

A flight from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Dublin departing on Oct. 16 costs $292 through third-party supplier BudgetAir and only includes a 55-minute layover in Calgary (see slides two and three).

Travellers preferring to book direct through WestJet pay only slightly more at $313. However, they are booked into UltraBasic, which has more restrictive rules. That said, transpacific and transatlantic flights booked in the lowest fare class include a piece of carry-on luggage, unlike domestic and transborder options.

This price is considered "low" for economy or roughly $221 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.

Low-cost, round-trip direct flights from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Dublin

Travellers looking to book a cheap return trip to Dublin from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»have better luck with options departing soon.

For instance, a flight departing from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on May 27 and returning from Dublin on June 9 only costs $635 to $689 through various third-party suppliers. Booked directly through WestJet, the ticket costs $635 (see slides four and five).

Unfortunately, the ultra-low ticket price involves two stopovers in either direction. On the outbound journey, travellers stop in Kelowna for an hour and a half before stopping in Calgary for an hour and 40 minutes. On the return flight, passengers must wait in Halifax for just over six hours and then in Calgary for 41 minutes.

This price is considered "low" for economy or roughly $486 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.
