To the editor: Re: Pot laws not about all or nothing," No. 15. Matthew Claxton's column was adequate for the most part. Legalization or decriminalization of cannabis has been urgently needed for at least 50 years.

To the editor: Re: "Lack of customers, high rents force Hobbs to close," Dec. 7. I sympathize with Thomas Hobbs but the reasons he gives for having to close his business are not new to me and other former business owners.

Flushed with dismay I work in an office of women only, so imagine my surprise when, during a brief interlude in the staff washroom, I discovered that the last person to use the facility had left an empty roll of toilet paper.

If I could redesign humans, starting from the ground up, Id probably change a whole lot of things. But if I could only make one tweak, Id add a safety valve.

Theres one factor that makes you wonder about widespread expectations that the B.C. New Democrats will run away with the next election. Its the strength of the field of candidates the B.C. Liberals are putting together.

Do you think a provincial NDP government will make any difference when it comes to public transportation? I ask this for a few of reasons.
