With the city's sky high rents, Vancouver's food entrepreneurs have taken to the streets offering gourmet fast food ranging from tacos, grilled cheese, poutine, dim sum, ribs, perogies, Vietnamese sandwiches, pizza, eggwiches, Indian fusion and many other culinary variations. After establishing a loyal following, the city's top food trucks have also opened traditional brick and mortar locations including hotspots Tacofino, Torafuku and Yolks. Joining the revolution, Vancouver's established restaurants have opened their own food trucks including Vij's Railway Express and authentic Neapolitan pizzeria, Via Tevere.Ìý

yvr fest 2 On Saturday August 5th and Sunday August 6th, the city's best food trucks come togetherÌý for held outside at Olympic Village and the Science World patio.Ìý The festival offers the opportunity to try the tasting menus (or full meals) from over 50 of Vancouver's best food trucks along with craft breweries, wineries and locally inspired cocktails. Enjoy live music and the fabulous with local vendors selling handmade goods, vintage clothing, antiques, plants & more.

eastside flea General admission on both Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 8pm is $10.00. Children under 13 are free.Ìý For food truck devotees, the for $59.00 provides early access at 11am and ends at 2pm with an all you can eat pass.

food for thought On Sunday evening asÌý part of the YVR Food Fest,Ìý Science World Omnimax Theatre from 6pm until 10pm hosts with local chefs, farmers, entrepreneurs and thought leaders sharing their stories about Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­food culture. are $24.00 and includes a mix and mingle social hour with wine selected by award-winning columnist, Kurtis Kolt.
